Isaiah 6:1-7  - 1In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.” 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

John 17:17 - “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is the truth.”

One of the tough things about going to the Bible for answers is that we find the truth.  What I mean by that is often in life when we seek council some place other than the Word the truth is sugar coated.  I know that for me I go to certain friends about specific problems and other friends about other problems because I hope to get a favorable response.  The Word will pierce you guaranteed because we have not built our lives on truth.

I often find myself hesitating to consult the Word because I am not ready for the answer.  When the answer is absolute truth all the other junk gets severed.  The stuff that gets severed is what makes my life a bubble and I don’t want that bubble popped.

In the end would I rather condition myself to go straight for the truth?  Would my friends that seek me out for council benefit from it?  Would they come back?  Would they notice something different?

I pray today and please pray for me that I would desire truth and that people would know that it is what I want.
